Hi Washington DC critter removal, I believe I have a rat in my car. I'm not sure what to do about it and whether it can live in my car or if comes and goes. I found evidence of nesting under my daughter's seat and cleaned that out. I've set live traps and snap traps and glue traps and haven't been successful with anything. One challenge is I live in Gaithersburg, Maryland and it is very cold so bait is actually freezing which has, I think, made it more easily stolen from the live traps. I've wire tied a cheese rind to the live trap. That's been found sprung but with no catch. I now have the car at the dealer in search of a hiding spot. If it isn't there, I guess I've spent a lot of money and it may re-enter the car when I come back home. I'd like to prevent that possibility and would like some suggestions, park in a different space, repellent around the car, traps around the car? I don't park in a garage but do park on the driveway at my house. Thanks for any suggestions,

Washington DC critter removal! i found your site randomly when looking up flies in relation to dead rats… we used poison trusting the myth that they die outside and we were desperate. anyway, there was a smell that came and left but now we have a serious plague of black flies and they have taken over the house as the rats did. is the smell likely to come back in a different form after the flies come? this is such an old house with so many nooks and crannies and attics and corners that i don’t think we can find all the carcasses as there were many but is it ok to leave them where they are to decompose? this is a rental and the landlord does nothing for the house and has admitted to leaving it to fall apart and so its not an option to have her open the walls to get them but my question is, is that absolutely necessary? and will the flies go away in time? we have set fly traps but they are relentless. thank you so much for your time!

I can hear them mainly at night. Sounds like they are in the wall behind my bed. This room is directly under the attic...and they are very noisy...wake me up a couple of times a night. Suggestions in Gaithersburg, Maryland???
